1. Information We Collect

Optional Account Creation: You can browse and use Prayer Library without creating an account. However, creating an account is required if you wish to save prayers and sync custom prayer lists across devices.

Account & Authentication Information: If you choose to sign up using third-party authentication services (Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google), we collect basic account details provided by those services, such as your email address and primary display name.

User-Generated Content: If logged in, we store the custom prayer lists you create within the app so that your data is synced and accessible across your logged-in sessions.

Usage & Technical Data: We collect non-personal diagnostic data via analytics tooling (PostHog). This includes your device-level identifiers (such as device model, OS version, and app version) and in-app interaction metrics. We do not collect your IP address or approximate location.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect strictly to deliver, maintain, and improve Prayer Library:

• To authenticate users: Securely handle account sign-in and maintain your session.

• To store your prayer content: Save your custom prayer lists to our secure database infrastructure.

• To analyze and improve performance: Monitor feature utilization, track application performance, and identify technical bugs using aggregate usage metrics.

• To communicate with you: Send important service or security notifications regarding your account.

3. Data Storage & Infrastructure (Service Providers)

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties or advertisers.

To operate the app, we work with trusted third-party cloud service providers who handle data strictly under our direction and subject to security compliance standards:

• Database & Hosting: Supabase (US-hosted infrastructure) handles authentication and hosts user accounts and custom prayer lists.

• Product Analytics: PostHog processes anonymous device diagnostics and user interaction logs to help us understand app usage patterns.

4. Data Deletion & User Rights

You maintain full ownership of your personal data and can request its complete removal at any time:

• In-App Deletion: You can permanently delete your account and all associated custom prayer lists directly through the settings menu inside the app.

• Email Request: You can email us at lucas@prayer-library.ca with the subject line "Data Deletion Request." We will permanently erase your account and associated records from our servers.

Rights for International Users (GDPR / CCPA / PIPEDA)

If you access Prayer Library from the European Union/UK, California, or Canada, you have specific statutory rights:

• Access & Portability: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

• Rectification: Request updates to incorrect or incomplete information.

• Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): Request the complete deletion of your data.

Data Transfers: Your data is stored on secure servers located in the United States. By using Prayer Library, you consent to the transfer and storage of your information in the US.

5. Children's Privacy

Prayer Library is a general-audience application and is not intended for or directed at children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in certain jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has created an account without your consent, please contact us at lucas@prayer-library.ca, and we will promptly delete the account and its data.

6. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our app features or regulatory obligations. When changes are made, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
